非常感谢
fēi cháng gǎn xiè
Thank you very much · trad. 非常感謝

非常感谢 (fēicháng gǎnxiè) is a more emphatic and formal way to say "thank you very much" in Mandarin Chinese. It expresses a deeper level of gratitude than a simple 谢谢 (xièxie).

When to use it

More formal and polite than 谢谢. Use it when you want to express strong appreciation, especially in more serious or significant situations. A common reply is 不客气 (bù kèqi), "you're welcome."

How to pronounce it

Sounds like "fay-CHAHNG GAHN-shyeh." The first syllable of 非常 is a high-level tone, the second is a rising tone. 感谢 has a third tone followed by a falling tone.

Other ways to say it

  • 谢谢xiè xièthank you (general)
  • 万分感谢wàn fēn gǎn xièextremely grateful (stronger, more formal)
  • 感激不尽gǎn jī bú jìnendlessly grateful (very formal/literary)
