谢谢光临
xiè xiè guāng lín
Thank you for coming · trad. 謝謝光臨
谢谢光临 (xièxie guānglín) is a polite and common way to thank someone for coming, especially when they are a guest, customer, or attendee at an event or business. It conveys appreciation for their presence.
When to use it
Polite and somewhat formal. It's frequently used by hosts, shopkeepers, or event organizers. For a more general or personal 'thank you for coming,' you can say 谢谢您的到来 (xièxie nín de dàolái). When addressing a group, use 谢谢大家的光临 or 谢谢大家今天来。
How to pronounce it
Sounds roughly like “SHYEH-shyeh GWANG-leen.” The first 谢 is a falling tone, the second is usually said lightly. 光 is a high-level tone, and 临 is a rising tone.
