05Today's Grammar Point
Today's Grammar Point
Ways to say thank you / "欢迎 + verb"
For thanks, choose between 谢谢 (everyday) and 感谢 (more formal).
① 谢谢 and 感谢
In everyday situations, use 谢谢. To sound more polished and polite, say 感谢您的光临 (thank you for your visit). The standard reply is 不用谢 (you're welcome).
② 欢迎 + verb (you are welcome to ...)
Follow 欢迎 with a verb to express a warm welcome: 欢迎再来 (please come again) / 欢迎光临 (welcome).
Service tip: A great send-off pairs 慢走 (take care) with 欢迎再来 (do come again). Adding 请拿好您的东西 (please make sure you have all your belongings) is a thoughtful touch.
06Practice
- Practice replying to 谢谢 with 不用谢.
- Say the full send-off sequence out loud. 感谢您的光临 → 请慢走 → 欢迎再来
- Build welcoming phrases with "欢迎 + verb". 欢迎再来/欢迎光临
