Grammar Point

xiǎng + action = want to ~

To say what you want to do, use xiǎng + an action word. To say "don't want to," use xiǎng.

  • xiǎng。(I want to go)
  • xiǎng。(I don't want to go)

yào = want / láizuò

yào + thing / action = "want something / want to do something." lái = come, zuò = do / make.

  • yàoshuǐ。(I want to drink water)
  • lái!(Come here!)
